It's amazing what a little subtle editing can do for an average photo.

A few gentle tweaks can turn an okay image into a shot you could print and hang on your wall.

The shot below was taken on a dull autumn day in a beech woodland.

Some simple adjustments...

• Turning up the Contrast helped deepen the shadows and boost the highlights,

• Changing the White Balance helped emphasise the gold in the leaves, and

• Increasing the Saturation added some punch to the colours.

The result is a much more autumnal photo!
